Cape Perpetua, named by Captain James Cook, March 7, 1778, hangs over 800 feet above the Pacific about two miles south of Yachats, Oregon.
Its a great location for a picnic lunch, whale watching, or taking in the sunset.
1n 1933, the Civilian Conservation Corps built a camp at the base of Perpetua.
During their stay, trails were put in and a stone shelter was built on the point of the cape.
There are many separate sites of interest around Cape Perpetua including a fantastic overlook from the top, a visitors center, Devil's Churn, the Giant Spruce, and Cook's Chasm with its Spouting Horn.
All in all, one of the most beautiful and dramatic areas of the Oregon coast.
